On April 10, RNIDS and CPN organized a panel on global trends of Internet Governance
[:]
Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS), in cooperation with CPN, organized a panel discussion themed “Lords of the Internet – a Change in Governance”. The discussion was held on Thursday, April 10, at 11:00, at the CPN Science Club, Knez Mihailova Street 5, Belgrade.
The motive behind this event was the decision of the US Commerce Department in March this year, to initiate a key phase in globalizing the Internet governance, whereby it would cease to be controlled by the US. To mark this, ICANN (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has launched a global consultation process on what the new “multistakeholder” system of Internet governance is supposed to look like.
