CPN officially opened a science festival in Smederevska Palanka[:]
The series of school festivals held across Serbia in the last couple of years, continued in 2014. This spring, many interested people had the opportunity to visit the science fair, titled: ”Experience science through physics, chemistry and mechanics“, and learn, enjoy, and discover new things.
For the third year in a row, school science festival is being hosted by ”GOŠA”, The High School of Mechanics. The festival has had CPN’s full support ever since its first year, and CPN is also one of the participants of the fair, featuring its interactive program.
This year, the festival was held on April 4. It was opened by Vladan Starčević, the High School’s Principal, and by Aleksandra Drecun, CPN Director. This time, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the festival was opened by Vesna Zdravković, Head of the School Department in Požarevac. .
Besides CPN, which presented the its portable planetarium and its exhibition: ”The Soap Bubbles”, a number of guests from across the country gave their best efforts to contribute to popularizing science via scientific experiments, demonstrations and presentations of new educational program and scientific workshops.
Among the participants were: The Institute ”Mihailo Pupin”, The Institute of Genetics, The Faculty of Physical Chemistry, The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from Belgrade, The Faculty of Electronics from Niš and the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad.
More than 2000 students from different cities took part in this year’s exhibitions. The Festival gathered kids from several elementary schools from Smederevska Palanka (”Heroj Radmila Šišković”, ”Heroj Ivan Muker”, ”Vuk Karadžić”, ”Olga Milošević”, ”Nikola Tesla” from Golobok, ”Milija Rakić” from Cerovac, ”Stanoje Glavaš” from Glibovac, ”Radomir Lazić” from Azanja, ”Brana Jevtić” from Kusadak), as well as some schools from Velika Plana (”Sveti Sava”, ”Karađorđe”, ”Nadežda Petrović”, ”Vuk Karadžić” from Krnjevo, ”Akademik Radomir Lukić” from Miloševac. The festival was also attended by high hchool students from Smederevo, Smederevska Palanka and Velika Plana.
This traditional event was initiated by a math teacher Sanja Rajić and a physics teacher Aleksandra Ivanović from Smederevska Palanka.
