CPN visited Lazarevac and introduced students of the elementary school ”Knez Lazar” to astronomy[:]
The CPN’s portable planetarium visited elementary school ”Knez Lazar” in Lazarevac, on February 27-28. This is the CPN’s second time around in Lazarevac.
The program included 5 projections every day, and a number of skilled CPN’s demonstrators who made sure that 500 students enjoy their time at the planetarium. The participants had an opportunity to learn about stars, the sun and other space phenomena, such as the position of Earth in space, the characteristics of its neighboring planets, different galaxies, far away objects, various constellations, etc.
The planetarium, which is basically a spherical cinema that features projections of the sky, provides a unique opportunity to expand children’s knowledge on natural sciences and it is also a stimulating approach introducing the kids to the basics of astronomy, in general.
