Among other activities that marked the National Science Day, a European science fund was also presented at the CPN’s Science Club, on July 10. 

The very important gathering, regarding everyone in the field of science, was also attended by Srđan Verbić, Minister of Education, Science, and Technological Development. Moreover, Aleksandar Belić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, spoke about the importance of the program Horizon 2020, as well as Viktor Nedović (Assistant State Secretary) and Aleksandra Drecun (CPN Director), who also gave their opinion and answered many questions.

Horizon 2020 is worth around 80 billion euros, and not only scientific and research organizations can apply for these funds, but also small and medium enterprises, as well as non-government organizations and the media.

The speakers illustrated that Serbia, above all, has a huge interest in participating in EU research and technology development projects, especially in fields involving information technology, food, agriculture and energy.

This presentation is just the first in the series of similar events. That is to say, after Serbia’s involvement in Horizon 2020, CPN in cooperation with Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, opens its door to everyone interested in learning more on the subject.
