While, more than a billion people throughout the world were following the World Cup, the CPN organized a panel ”Science in Football” on Thursday, June 26, at the Big Hall of SCC.
This panel gathered physicists, chemists and sport experts in order to unveil football’s scientific side. Speakers were PhD Duško Latas, PhD Nenad Vukmirović, PhD Voin Petrović and Miloš Šaranović, sports journalist.
The main question that panel participators addressed was- how much science is there in football, anyway?
The panel dealt with the question of psychophysical aspects of a player, the characteristics of the ball’s trajectory, its resistance to air flow, gravity field and many other aspects invisible to a naked eye.
