Science Day is being celebrated in Serbia on July 10. Ever since 2010, this day represents an official event that is used, among other things, to celebrate Nikola Tesla’s birthday.

This year, various events have been organized in Belgrade and throughout Serbia, to honor Tesla and science.

CPN started the event by opening Children’s Science Club.  the CPN Science Club was filled with elementary school students enjoying and learning through the workshops, which lasted from 9am to 3pm. The program takes place every day until July 18, except the weekends.

After the kids, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Srđan Verbić visited the Science Club, at 3pm, when he joined other numerous attendants in listening about Serbia’s integration in the program Horizon 2020.

Following the event, Bojan Trobok held another lecture at 5:30 pm about a new interactive platform for learning math.

In the meantime, ”Tesla’s cinema” started working on the first floor of the Club, and an exhibition ”Tesla’s Vision of the Internet” took place on the stairway area. The exhibition was arranged by RNIDS.

At 7pm the CPN organized a panel ”HAARP and other scientific misconceptions”, with a huge attendance.

A lot of people from Belgrade came to hear what famous Serbian scientists have to say about this recently spread conspiracy theory, as well as other misconceptions.

Among the guest speakers were: PhD Milan Ćirković, Dr. Milovan Šuvakov, and PhD Oliver Tošković, and the panel was moderated by Slobodan Bubnjević. The atmosphere at the Club was extremely positive, and the audience had fun and enjoyed the interesting conversation about science and society.
